July 7, 2005 The recently completed Christ Redeemer Catholic Church won First Place in the Design-Build/New Construction Category of the 2005 Build Georgia Awards . This structure is the first of a two-phase project where the current sanctuary will eventually function as a fellowship hall. The church was completed in collaboration with Lusk & Associates General Contractors and Catholic Construction Services, Inc., and was delivered to the congregation several months ahead of schedule. The 5,200 square foot structure was built at a cost of approximately $150 per square foot - a "terrific value" according to the CCSI program manager. It includes a 200-seat sanctuary, kitchen, vesting room, offices, and classrooms, all on a heavily wooded site. Colors and materials such as Tennessee fieldstone were specifically selected to blend with the natural characteristics of this densely forested location.
