This particular carriage house presented a difficult challenge in that the rear property line was twenty two feet - precisely the dimension required for the house's footprint as mandated by the Town's design guidelines.  We resolved this dilemma by separating the house into three staggered components which allow passage into the yard while simultaneously respecting the integrity of the guidelines.  The result yields a more unique carriage house form which appears much larger than its 484 square foot plan.
